Hi, I'm Michael Stonis.

Hi, I'm Michael Stonis.

Sometimes life has a way to point you in a direction. For me, I was fortunate to have access to the world wide web near the beginning. My father needed access to pretty powerful computers at home too, so I was able to get in and start coding early on. I had access to many people in my area that were already developing software at a fairly early age. In a lot of ways, I feel like I lucked into the perfect storm of technology and timing to get me where I am today.

Today, I focus on building next-generation software for enterprises. I’ve been an active .NET developer and consultant for nearly two decades — working in mobile since its earliest days and staying close to the Microsoft community around mobile development, chatbots, IoT, and now AI. I am a 9x Microsoft MVP and the author of Enterprise Application Patterns Using .NET MAUI, Microsoft’s official guidance for building maintainable, testable cross-platform apps.

I am the founding partner of Eight-Bot, where I lead a team of engineers building high-performance, cross-platform enterprise solutions for clients ranging from healthcare and industry to state government. My team helps our customers move their companies into the future by leveraging new and cutting-edge software solutions. In the past, I was a partner at Prosch Consulting (now Occam Technologies) and an ITGC Auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

My work today sits at the intersection of .NET MAUI, C#, and AI-assisted development. As a software architect, I care about the patterns — and the reactive, high-scale architecture — that keep cross-platform apps maintainable and testable as they grow. Lately I’ve been helping enterprises make the “AI pivot”: moving beyond basic LLM chat to build autonomous, task-oriented agents with Agentic AI and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that integrate deeply with real business data and workflows.

I build and maintain a set of open-source libraries for the .NET MAUI ecosystem, each one filling a gap I kept hitting in real projects: KumikoUI (a canvas-drawn DataGrid), MintedTextEditor (a rich text editor), MauiNativePdfView (a native PDF viewer), TychoDB (a document database for .NET), and VConSharp.

You can find me on GitHub, LinkedIn, X, and Bluesky, or learn more about what we’re building at Eight-Bot.
